I am a hardworking, resilient individual, who always strives to do the best I can. When given a task, I complete it to the best of my ability always in a timely manner. I am especially interested in AI for environmental protection, and am currently looking for an internship of that type.
Jakub Szumny
EDUCATION
I graduated Downers Grove South High School in May of 2021, with a 3.7 GPA, being an honor roll and academic letter recipient. During my time there, I took AP European History, AP Computer Science, AP Physics, and AP Calculus. At the same time as my regular schooling, I was also attending Polish School weekly, at Henryk Sienkiewicz Polish School. I graduated and earned a second high school diploma after attending for 13 years side by side with regular high school. The diploma certifies that I have mastered the language of Polish by completing 1,230 hours of the study of the Polish language, the history, and the literature.
To begin my collegiate journey, I first attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, majoring in Computer Science. I quickly realized that it wasn't for me, and that my goals aligned more with Data Science. I then transferred after my freshman year to the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, which I currently attend. I currently have a 4.0 GPA, and am majoring in Information Sciences and Data Science, and have received the Dean's List award every semester I have attended. I am expected to graduate in May of 2025, with a B.S. of Information Sciences and Data Sciences.
